Rental cars at Phoenix Airport are entirely stored at the offsite rental car center located about 5 miles / 15 minutes from the airport via a shuttle bus. The cool thing is that for certain car companies (Alamo, National) — you can choose your car from a set of similar options. For our full size car, we could choose from Dodge Chargers, Nissan Altimas, Toyota Camrys, and even Toyota Tacoma double cab pickup trucks. It was fun to choose exactly what we wanted and the color of the car. Nissan even offered hybrid Altimas (although black colored for the Phoenix sun?). The rental car center in Phoenix is a bit of a trek to get too – but the car pickup and dropoff are convenient at the center. We’d have to say that Alamo offered some unique options in car choices that gave you a lot for your money with CHOICE.
